Well, I've been away from Melbourne and my usual Guitar guru Dave Ulbrick for almost a year now. Not surprisingly both my acoustic and electric guitar have been in need of some much overdue attention. We're talking major repairs. Both needed full fret replacement besides anything else.
As you can imagine, it's a point of some anxiety leaving one's precious instruments with a stranger that claims they can take to them with a surgeon's tool-kit and bring them back to their former glory. So it was with some trepidation that I did just that when I left my very valuable Gibson EC30 BKE with the guys at South East Guitar Repair in Lawrenceville, Atlanta and went home to bite my nails!
Happily though, the fret-job and other miscellaneous repairs these guys performed were probably the best I've ever seen. I booked my PRS electric in at the very next opportunity and they have indeed repeated the expert craftsmanship. Both of these axes are playing better than ever and I would highly recommend this company to anybody requiring professional guitar maintenance in the Atlanta area.
